How to Discover Your Core Values (And What to Do With Them)
There was once a time, upon hearing that a blizzard would envelop the countryside, farmers in the Great Plains would secure a rope from the door of the house to the door of the barn. They had heard too many stories of loved ones being lost in the storm while returning from the barn and freezing to death. Only a few feet away, in a whiteout it was easy to lose your way home.
Values are like that rope. When chaos ensnares us and we lose our way, our values help us find our way home. Our most uncompromising values — what we call core values — are the truest, most vivid expression of who we are. When we no longer live in accordance with our core values, we no longer resemble ourselves. They are that core to who we are.
Knowing what we value is an indispensable part of knowing who we are, yet it’s an exercise that most of us never undergo. Your values tether you to who you are, and they illuminate the way you should go. This one-hour workshop will help you get clear on your deepest and strongest core values, and begin to discern how you can animate them in your life in a more intentional way.
Who should attend:
This workshop is intended for people who are beginning their self-discovery journey or for people who have been on this journey for a while but have yet to identify their core values. This workshop is a foundational class; the psychological scaffold will be built off of your values.
